Beach Minis Session Information

Hi! I can't wait to see you!

Below you'll find all the information you need for our shoots on Friday/Saturday. Please read all this information thoroughly and ask any questions prior to the time of your session. Back in the back of the park where we'll be, I have ZERO cell service, so I will not be able to field any questions at all on the evening of these sessions. I will try to make parking and walking directions as clear as I can for you, and include pictures. Please be on time or a little bit early because some people have some trouble finding it so leave early in case there's a problem.

Directions to Port Burwell Provincial Park

Use standard GPS to get to Port Burwell from wherever you live, and then once you're in Port Burwell, make your way to County Road 39/Chatham St. The entrance to Port Burwell Provincial Beach is at the end of Chatham Street on the right. After purchasing your parking pass ($18.00) display it on your front dash, and proceed to the first section of parking lots (1-3), you will actually proceed past these lots, and follow this forest lined road for a few minutes until you come into another clearing (lots 4&5) You'll be parking in lot 4 (the first section) and you'll see a wooden walkway up a hill. That's where you're going. There is a bathroom in the parking lot (It's gross, but it exists) so use that if you need to and then follow the boardwalk to the beach (it's a couple minutes walk) When you get to the beach I'm hoping you'll see me somewhere there waiting or still shooting my previous session. Make yourself comfortable, do any last minute changes and I'll see you in a minute.

Some Things to Consider

It might be windy.

If you have really long hair, consider bringing a claw clip to put it back if the blowing hair isn't your vibe. If you have kiddos with long hair, consider styling it back, even partially to avoid them having to tuck it behind their ears over and over.

There might be people on the beach.

It's summer, and while the beach empties out towards the end of the day, there may be some people around. I've never had anyone be bothered by it, I try to leave a good amount of space between the space we're occupying and other beach goers.

You have to pay to enter.

There's a fee to pay in order to enter the park and you'll have to display a pass on your dash. It's under $20, bring cash as a backup, but they do take debit and credit as well. And the beach entrance is different from the camping entrance. Make sure you get the right one.

It's about a 5 minute walk from car to beach so travel light.

Leave as much as you can at the park, but be sure to bring towels because you'll probably get at least a little bit wet. When the sun is lower in the sky the sand wont be as hot. Expect to be barefoot.

No dogs allowed?

Technically this beach is NOT the dog beach. I've seen people with their dogs on this stretch of beach though. As long as they're on a leash I don't care too much, but I can't say the same thing about the park staff if they come rolling through. I'm not responsible for any fines you might get or if they ask you to leave.

Can you stay and watch the sunset?

Your session is over but you want to stay and play, absolutely, please do. Just don't be upset when I peace out because my next clients have arrived.

What if it's raining?

We'll reschedule. But if it's just overcast, that can make for some moody beach shots which are great!

What should you wear?

Literally anything. The beach is such a vibe that the clothes can be whatever. Ive had everything from flowy gowns and beautiful summer sets in every shade of neutral to band tshirts and ripped jeans. I think probably the only thing that would look out of place is formal wear. So. not formal wear.
